* By default this option is turned on. If this option inadvertently got turned off (or if you actually prefer to have it turned off), you can change it in the following location: Tools > Options > Mail Format > Editor Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options button > AutoFormat As You Type tab.
* Make sure the following option is selected in the section titled "Replace as you type": > Internet and network paths with hyperlinks
NOTE: you may also need to select the same option that is found on the AutoFormat tab.
